Uniform Aeration. Optimized Performance.

Modernizing Odor Control for One of the Southwest's Largest Wastewater Treatment facilities
The City of Las Vegas undertook a major odor control modernization program to improve environmental performance and support continued growth around the Water Pollution Control Facility.
The project included the replacement of aging odor control equipemnt, expanded capture of odorous process air, and construction of a new biological odor control system utilizing BacTee's BioAer® aeration flooring.
The Challenge

As development continued around the treatment plant, the City sought to modernize its odor control infrastructure while reducing maintenance associated with older treatment systems.
The project required a biological odor control solution capable of treating exceptionally large airflow volumes while providing uniform air distribution throughout the media bed.
The BacTee Solution
With 368,000 CFM of treatment capacity and over 46,000 square feet of flooring, the installation demonstrates the scalability of the BioAer® floor system for large municipal wastewater facilities.
BioAer® aeration flooring was selected to provide:
-
Uniform airflow distribution
-
Low pressure loss
-
Simplified maintenance
-
Long-term structural durability
-
Reliable performance at very large airflow volumes
The modular floor system provides consistent support for the biofilter media while promoting even airflow across the entire treatment area, helping maximize biological performance.
