The Cumberland County Biosolids & Organics Recycling Center is a state-of-the-art enclosed composting facility. Synagro and the Cumberland County Improvement Authority wanted to create a new facility using renewable energy to create a highly sustainable, environmentally and community friendly composting solution.

The 103,000 sq. foot indoor process utilizes the BDP agitated bay in-vessel composting system in partnership with BacTee's aerated flooring system.  John Goodwin, the Senior vice president of technology at Synagro stated, "[We] considered multiple technologies before selecting composting for the Cumberland County facility."  Why the BacTee and BDP partnered technology was chosen was due to what Goodwin describes as "a desire to utilize proven technology with a demonstrated ability to provide a high-quality product while maximizing the environmental benefits of the facility.
